What Are Harmonic Patterns?

Harmonic patterns are geometric structures built from five key points: X, A, B, C, and D. The final point, D, often represents a potential reversal area. Patterns like the Gartley and Butterfly are commonly used to frame price movement, consisting of an impulse leg, a corrective move, and a possible continuation or reversal.

Key Features of the Harmonic Pattern Indicator

• Pattern Detection: Automatically scans charts for harmonic structures based on zigzag-identified points and Fibonacci measurements. The indicator visually maps the X-A-B-C-D structure on your chart.
• Mode Selection: Offers two modes—Compact and Extended—to adjust the size of detected patterns. Compact mode is suitable for shorter-term formations, while Extended mode captures broader setups.
• Post-D Filter: Allows traders to define how many candles after point D are considered in the setup. This helps filter for patterns that are followed by a price impulse and retest, enhancing contextual analysis.

Order Flow Features for Deeper Market Insight

In addition to harmonic structure recognition, the indicator includes unique order flow elements that add an analytical edge:

• POC Line: Draws the Point of Control—highest volume level—based on the full pattern or point D. Useful for identifying price zones with concentrated trading activity.
• Delta at Point D: Highlights delta values at point D. Negative delta for bullish patterns may suggest absorption by buyers, while positive delta for bearish patterns can indicate selling pressure.
• Cluster Volume: Tracks volume clusters either at point D or at key volume/delta extremes within the pattern. Reveals significant activity at critical areas.

Visual Application

On the chart, the indicator dynamically connects pattern points from X to D as formations develop. Switching between Compact and Extended modes adjusts the pattern length, and enabling the Post-D filter narrows focus to relevant follow-through scenarios. Combined with order flow metrics like delta and volume, this tool enhances the structural view of market behavior.
